Becca Fenwick

Director of Environmental Information and Technology, UC Natural Reserve System

Becca Fenwick is based at UC Santa Cruz and has been the UC NRS Director of Environmental Information and Technology since 2015. Since 2017 she has been the Program Director for the California Heartbeat Initiative (CHI), as well as the Lead Drone Pilot for CHI, flying both quadcopters and fixed wings. She worked for 8 years as the Director of two UC Natural Reserves; The James San Jacinto Mountains Reserve (UC Riverside) and the Sierra Nevada Research Stations, Yosemite & Sequoia-Kings Canyon (UC Merced). She holds a BSc and an MSci in Earth Science from the University of Birmingham, UK, and a Ph.D. in Marine Geology and Geophysics from the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, UC San Diego. When not working for the reserves she can be found exploring the outdoors, enjoying live music, or making things out of yarn and anything weavable.  Contact Becca
